Join the Health Bet Challenge with Jenn!

 

Super excited that I have the opportunity to work with Team Beachbody in running a fitness challenge that will actually PAY people to workout and get fit. Positive Affirmations: Believe In YOU

STAY POSITIVE! What is the alternative—basically there is NO ALTERNATIVE when you want to live your best life. 

Who wakes up and says I’m hoping to get nothing accomplished today, there is nothing that can make this day better. Wait. I hear some of you saying, well yeah what about rest days, sick days or vacation? The goal is to just OWN TODAY whatever that intention you set for it. So today I wanted to share some positive affirmations that I believe everyone should say out loud EVERY DAY.

  • I am feeling healthy and strong today.
  • I have the courage to make this a GREAT day.
  • My body is getting stronger and improving every day.
  • Everything works out for the highest good.
  • I will make a positive difference for someone today.
  • Everything I need comes to me at the right time.
  • My work has meaning and purpose.
  • I am grateful, I enjoy every moment of the day.
  • My friendships are filled with love and joy.
  • I am in charge of my emotions, my desires, my abilities and I only focus on success.

Try reading these 10 affirmations ALOUD when you first wake up in the morning. If you can, find a quiet space where you can sit and focus on you—no phone, no notifications, no distractions. Go ahead and try it for a 7-10 days and see how you are feeling at the end of the week. I bet that you will have a spring in your step, smile more and others around you will notice and their moods/productivity will improve too!

IMG_9228My Experience was very positive from the first sip I took of Phenoh 7.4! I did share it with my 12 year old son who made a face at the taste, but then he makes a face at most anything. Right away I noticed it did not have any strong FLAVOR per say but it was a light, honey-like taste. Immediately I recognized the sweetness of the Agave Nectar mentioned in the ingredients of the product.

 

 

IMG_9267Knowing that Phenoh can increase your VO2 Max by 10%, I decided the very next day to take it to my zumba class and drank it instead of water while teaching. It was so refreshing and it really quenched my thirst while dancing. As a fitness instructor, I like to make my moves and cues larger to engage and energize my classes–I sweat A LOT. On average I do over 6,000 steps per zumba class and I was thankful I brought a second bottle with me because I drank that one too right after teaching. It settled easy on my tummy and it gave me extra energy to drive and pick up my kids after their evening activities too.

I took my Phenoh 7.4 with me to drink in the car pre-run one morning. Often when I need a pick me up early, I will drink a small cup of coffee but the Phenoh seemed to work just as fine for me. I was able to pick up a faster pace during my run and upon returning I drank a second serving post-workout while stretching in my living room. I had no issues with cramping or DOMS the following 24hours.

My recommendation is that one can ultimately drink Phenoh as a pre or post workout drink. I love the convenience of these drink containers—they easily fit in my small tote, I was able to store them in a console in my car and they fit nicely in the door of my fridge–easy to grab-n-go. I find when I am prepared with the right fuel, I have better balance in my life and Phenoh 7.4 was a great addition this month!

Functional Fitness– Fitness Forever!

 

 

 

 

 

We are life-long learners and the older I get, I realize the less that I really know! I will always be a student and I learn many wonderful things being a teacher. How ironic that the fortune in my fortune cookie tonight said “To TEACH is to LEARN TWICE.”

One of the 2 fitness workshops this weekend was about teaching older populations, but as it turns out many of the fundamentals we learned can be applied to classes of all ages! The awful truth is we are all getting older and as we have more birthdays, our bodies are changing. My role as a fitness instrutor is to lead participants safely through exercises in a group setting.  In planning out workouts, we have to apply some “Fuzzy Logic” as we all come in different shapes, sizes, restrictions and abilities! So basically know the facts and be smart about pushing on the boundaries while knowing your own body’s needs.

Functional fitness is basically examining your daily activities, whatever that may be for you in your occupation and creating dynamic movements that repeat/mimic and strengthen the muscles in your body you use for those actvities.  Again as we celebrate more birthdays, gravity has it’s toll on our bodies and we begin to lose balance, reaction time and are more prone to falls that can result in broken bones.  So, why not PRACTICE falling, feeling your body move through that action and safely know how to fall and get up off the ground? Genius, right? There are already some great fitness moves out there that you are familiar with like lawn mower, sprinkler, bow and arrow to name a few. 

I’m getting started today to observe people in their day-to-day activities and putting my thinking cap on to come up with some new exercises that will give my students the upper hand when it comes to leading a fully functional life, all the days of their lives!  And folks don’t forget to LAUGH a little, SMILE a lot and tell a friend or special some one that you LOVE them! Get those Feel-Good Endorphins going!!
